Thanks to the generosity of a grant from the Kinetic Moving Communities Fund, Safe Steps are running an awareness campaign on buses leaving the Preston depot for the next two months.
Through this moving billboard, more people will know we are here to help as we come into the festive season – a time when calls to our family violence crisis response service are at their highest.
This is an exciting corporate partnership for Safe Steps, and it is a fantastic way to get our brand and purpose out and about, so more people can learn about Safe Steps and our services.
Last week we had a tour of the new Kinetic depot that opened in July this year in Preston.
Kinetic operates Australasia’s most extensive bus network, including over 30% of the bus network here in Melbourne. We heard about their commitment to electrifying their fleet and growing a zero and low emissions bus network that will modernise Melbourne’s bus network and make it more sustainable for the future.
We also heard about the Kinetic drivers and workforce, and their Women Up Front recruitment program that is part of their commitment to have gender balance across their entire workforce by 2030. As we know, a gender-balanced working environment benefits the workforce, and the community more broadly. We acknowledge and respect their move into this space.
Great to be in partnership with you Kinetic and thank you for championing grassroots organisations and investing in stronger, more inclusive communities across Australia and New Zealand. Together, we are moving communities forward.
Safe Steps is Victoria’s only 24/7 family and domestic violence crisis service, we provide a lifeline to thousands of people each year.
Your generosity helps ensure that when someone calls us, often in their most terrifying moment, they are believed and supported on their journey to safety, so they never have to return to an unsafe home.
