We are pleased to share the Safe Steps FY24/25 Impact Report with you – our dedicated partners, donors and supporters.
We are proud to be there for Victorians in their moment of crisis, including in the middle of the night, when they have nowhere else to turn. Calls and Live chats to our 24/7 service are increasing.
We saw a 17 per cent increase in the number of people calling us, we also answered 22 per cent more calls. We continue to provide a steadfast, sector-leading response for anyone experiencing family and domestic violence.
We have deepened our commitment to providing inclusive and accessible services, firmly grounded in the guidance of people with lived experience.
We are proud to be
- Providing a 24/7 response to more callers
- Giving people options in the way they contact us, through Live Chat. This was extended to become a 24 hour service in FY25.
- Completing more risk assessments
- Expanding our impact nationwide, as a 1800RESPECT partner
- Serving an increasingly diverse client base
- Supporting more people in court, an 83 per cent increase on last year.
- Supporting 600 families living with disability, almost double the number from last year.
- Providing the Sanctuary Model across all our crisis accommodation sites, and
- Building more emergency accommodation for people fleeing family violence.
Safe Steps is proud of its very strong financial position. In FY25 we increased our income by 10 per cent through diversified sources and achieved a surplus. View the financial report here.
We extend our thanks to our funders, the Victorian and Federal Governments, philanthropists, foundations, as well as for donations and bequests that support our essential services. We also achieved a 25 per cent increase in revenue from our community fundraising efforts to support our objectives. This support has never been more important as demand for our services grows.
