Help her on her journey to safety, so she never has to go back.

Jasmine had endured years of emotional and physical abuse. She felt trapped, ashamed, and alone. One night, after a violent assault that left her fearing for her life, she found the courage to reach out. With trembling hands, she dialed the number she had memorised but never dared to call.

Safe Steps answered. The voice on the other end was calm, compassionate, and reassuring. Jasmine was believed. She was not judged. She was helped. Safe Steps arranged crisis accommodation, coordinated transport, and  supported her to safety.

That call was Jasmine’s turning point.

Safe Steps provides 24/7 crisis support to people at risk from family violence. Most of our work begins with a phone call, a lifeline in a moment of desperation. Your support ensures we can answer every call.

Because when someone reaches out and starts their journey to safety, they deserve to be heard and helped so they never have to go back to an unsafe home.

Be the reason someone finds safety.

Safe Steps is Victoria’s only around-the-clock family and domestic violence crisis service, and with your support, we provide a lifeline to thousands of people each year.

Your generosity helps ensure that when someone calls us, often in their most terrifying moment, they are believed and supported to safety.

For more than 45 years, Safe Steps has been at the heart of Victoria’s family and domestic violence response. But we don’t stop at crisis, your support helps guide survivors, especially children, toward long-term safety, healing, and brighter futures.

Here’s how your donation can make a difference:
